  3. The rectangular stuff at the back seems to be fried stuffed intestine / sausage. I don't know. Weird shape.

The veg dish is some cabbage with seemingly fried gluten in a sweet sour sauce.

The last and greatest dish (the one that looks like a glob of sh*t) is fermented beancurd, steamed. Delicacy.

Slurp. Oh, to be in Peking again.

  4. Hi Christina!

Except duck restaurants, there just aren't that many Beijing restaurants around. Every neighborhood has their Sichuan, Chengdu, Yunnan, Shanghai, and Xinjiang places, but not necessary a Beijing one.

  5. The triangles are actually deep fried pieces of bread. They were quite tasty when dipped in the garlic water.

The sh*t looking (I agree) bean curd dish has goat milk in it giving it a distinct flavor. I kind of like this dish too. For a while I thought this was 'stinking doufu', and thought I had mastered the dish that others fear so much. How wrong I was. 'Stinking doufu' not only smells like it but also TASTES like sh*t.

Anyway. It is allowed to swear when writing in my blog. Shit, fuck, bitch, fan, jävlar, arsch, puta, cabron, tamade. There you are. Feel free to express yourself. ;)

  6. Well, I'd like to have a try of those dishes, but they don't look very tasty though. By the way the "Stinking Tofu" is my favorite, I mean the real ones!!

Ok, I'm gonna find sth to eat for lunch, but no triangle things and goat milk.

  10. MaDouFu is a little bit more of a rare delicacy in comparison to MaPoDouFu which you can find everywhere. Possibly because of the way it looks. See comments above and the picture.
